Rosemont Stud based sire Nostradamus (Medaglia d’Oro) was handed his second winner on Thursday courtesy of Seeress’ (2 f ex Elleandee by Snippets) victory in the Ballarat TC Polytrack Maiden Plate (1000m).

Having finished ninth on debut in April, the George Osborne-trained two-year-old filly added a first win to her CV with a half a length victory over Baddock (Your Song), while Kiani (Headwater) finished another length away in third.

Purchased by her trainer in conjunction with Langdon Thoroughbreds for $16,000 at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale, the filly is the seventh winner out of the winning Snippets (Lunchtime) mare Elleandee, making her a half-sister to Grade 3-placed Ridethebreeze (Anabaa).

Elleandee herself is a half-sister to Doncaster Handicap (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Sprint By (Kaapstad) and Listed winner Queen Of State (Volksraad).

Further afield, the filly’s third dam is Listed winner Procne (Acroterion) - the dam of multiple Grade 1 winner Flying Paster (Gummo) and Listed scorer Argolid (Saros).

The filly’s brother was purchased by RR Manning for NZ$35,000 at this year’s New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale and in 2019 she foaled a colt by Tarzino (Tavistock).

Seeress joins Clairvoyance as the son of Medaglia d’Oro’s (El Prado) other winner and he will stand the 2020 season for a fee of $5,500 (inc GST).
