The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Requited (2 g ex Secret Silence by Fusaichi Pegasus) relished the step up to 1400 metres on Monday when he took out the Goulburn Mulwaree Council Maiden (1400m) at Goulburn to become the tenth Australian-bred winner for his Coolmore Stud-based sire Vancouver (Medaglia d'Oro).

Having his third career start on Monday after finishing fourth on debut over 900 metres at Scone and then second at Newcastle over 1300 metres, the gelding scored a half-length victory over Halevi (So You Think) whilst Debasement (Iffraaj) finished third.

Requited was bought for $550,000 by China Horse Club and Newgate Bloodstock at last year's Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Coolmore Stud. He becomes the eighth winner, from as many foals to race, out of the winning Fusaichi Pegasus (Mr Prospector) mare Secret Silence making him a half-brother to 2014 Easter Handicap (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Albany Reunion (Fastnet Rock), Listed winner Fast Dragon (Fastnet Rock) and the Group 3 placed filly Palace Rock (Fastnet Rock).

His second dam is Nothings Secret (Secreto), dam of Listed placed mare Discretion (Canny Lad) who in turn produced Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed Royal Discretion (Royal Academy). This is also the family of Group winners Sun City (Zoustar) and Vezalay (Shamardal).

Vancouver sits fifth in the Australian leading first season sires table by earnings with the table headed by his barnmate Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry). His first Australian-bred crop include the South African Grade 2 winner Mount Pleasant and he has also sired four stakes performers in Vangelic, Postcode, Ticket To Ride and Canadian Spice.
