Newgate Farm first season sire Super One (I Am Invincible) sired his ninth first crop winner on Sunday when the John Keys-trained One Lotto (2 g ex Potluck by Excites) scored on debut at Devonport.

One Lotto beat Weldborough (Mawingo) by one and a half lengths with Freelancer (Wordsmith) another length back in third.

One Lotto was bought for $20,000 from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft at the 2018 Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale and then bought by his trainer for $42,500 at the following year’s Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale.

He becomes the first winner for his dam, the winning Excites (Danewin) mare Potluck. His second dam is Snaps (Flying Spur) who produced six winners from nine foals to race and is herself out of Listed winner Snapshots (Success Express) making her a half-sister to the stakes performers Memento (Your Song) and Cinematic (Dane Shadow). One Lotto’s fourth dam, Karrakatta Plate (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Hold That Smile (Haulpak), is the grandam of multiple Group 1 winner Sea Siren (Fastnet Rock) and her Group 2 winning half-sister Lady Dehere (Dehere).

Potluck has a weanling filly by Winning Rupert (Written Tycoon) and is in foal to Flying Artie (Artie Schiller).

Super One will stand for a fee of $11,000 (inc GST) this year having covered a book of 169 mares at that fee in 2019.
