The Stuart Kendrick-trained Salazar (3 f Deep Field - Not Bad by Danehill Dancer) - a graduate of the 2019 Inglis Digital Monthly July Sale - broke shed her maiden status at the first time of asking at Ipswich on Wednesday.

The three-year-old filly was snapped up by her trainer on the online auction for $21,000 and she prevailed in a close finish to beat Dream Weaving (Dream Ahead) by a nose, while Bastille Day (Agitate) was another head back in third.

Salazar is the third winner out of the placed Danehill Dancer (Danehill) mare Not Bad, who is herself a half-sister to Good Gamble (Pleasant Tap) - the dam of dual Group 3 winner Gamble Me (Rock Of Gibraltar).

The filly’s third dam is dual winner Con Game (Buckpasser) and the dam of multiple Grade 1 winner Seeking The Gold (Mr Prospector) and fellow elite level winner Fast Play (Seattle Slew), while Grade 3 winner Stacked Pack (Majestic Light).

In 2018 Not Bad produced a colt by Wandjina (Snitzel), who was purchased by Dwayne Schmidt for $3,000 at this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and she is in foal to Darley shuttler Harry Angel (Dark Angel).

Deep Field (Northern Meteor) will stand at a career high fee of $55,000 (inc GST) this spring at Newgate Farm and he will stand alongside his son Cosmic Force, who will be offered to breeders at a fee of $16,500 (inc GST).
