The Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Divine Diosa (3 f Teofilo - La Siroque by Zabeel) ran out a ready winner of a maiden plate over 1400 metres at Sandown-Lakeside on Wednesday.

Having her fourth career start, the three-year-old filly beat Perfect World (Pride Of Dubai) by a length with Succeed Indeed (Akeed Mofeed) another length and a quarter back in third.

Co-trainer Simon Zahra predicted a big future for the three-year-old: “She might have one more run but we’re keen to put her out for spring and get some good grass into her,” Zahra said.

The three-year-old daughter Teofilo (Galileo) is the second foal out of dual winning Zabeel (Sir Tristram) mare La Siroque, who was purchased by Riyue Trading for $160,000 at the 2017 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale with the filly in utero and the filly was then purchased by her trainers for $90,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale from the Yulong draft.

La Siroque herself is out of New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Zirna (Deputy Governor) making her a half-sister to Group 3 winner Crafty Irna (Starcraft).

The filly’s third dam is four-time winner Riverly Lass (Gleam Machine), who is the dam of Listed-winning duo Vandalo (Van Nistelrooy) and Amazing Me (Deputy Governor), while she is the grandam of Tavarnelle (Zabeel) - the dam of Western Australian Derby (Gr 2, 2400m) winner Tuscan Queen (Fastnet Rock).

Teofilo, who was provided his 18th Group 1 winner when Donjah landed the Preis Von Europa (Gr 1, 2400m) at Cologne last weekend, is represented in Australia by his sire sons Kermadec, who stands at Darley's Kelvinside base and Sun Stud-based Palentino.

The son of Galileo (Sadler's Wells) stood at Darley's Kildangan Stud base for a fee of €40,000 in 2020.
