The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Waafiya (3 f Snitzel - You're So Good by Savabeel) got off the mark at the third time of asking when she won the Pryde's Esifeed Maiden Handicap (1100m) at Scone on Tuesday.

Last seen running fourth at Canberra on August 7, having finished fifth at Canterbury on debut, the filly beat Deed Of Gift (Redoute's Choice) by half a length, while Shakti (Sepoy) finished the same distance away in third.

Purchased by Emirates Park and Bryan Carlson for $570,000 at the 2019 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Arrowfield, the filly is out of Listed-winning Savabeel (Zabeel) mare You're So Good.

You're So Good is a daughter of winning Flying Spur (Danehill) mare Lightning Spur, making her a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Melito (Redoute's Choice), the pair both being out of Listed winner Cloister (Marauding).

Further back, Cloister is also the grandam of dual Group 3 winner and now Arrowfield Stud resident Pariah (Redoute's Choice).

In 2018 You're So Good produced a sister to Waafiya and she has most recently been covered again by the Arrowfield Stud sire.

Snitzel was crowned Australia's champion sire for a fourth consecutive time this year and he will stand the 2020 season for a fee of $165,000 (inc GST).
