Regally-bred Hindaam (3 f Savabeel - Bayrock by Fastnet Rock) impressively shed her maiden status at the second time of asking when she won over 1200 metres at Pakenham on Monday.

Trained by Lindsay Park, the three-year-old filly pulled clear in the closing stages to Pony Gram (Al Maher) by an emphatic five lengths, while Mayshestar (Starspangledbanner) was another nose further back in third.

The daughter of Savabeel (Zabeel) holds an entry for the Thousand Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) and Ben Hayes said he was looking forward to stepping her up in class.

"She's a really exciting filly going forward," said co-trainer Ben Hayes. "We're looking forward to throwing her in the deep end now."

Purchased by Shadwell for $825,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Kitchwin Hills draft, the filly is out of Fastnet Rock (Danehill) mare Bayrock.

Bayrock is herself a daughter of Sweet Embrace Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) winner Legally Bay (Snippets), who is also the dam of dual Group 1 winner and now Coolmore Stud-based sire Merchant Navy (Fastnet Rock) and Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed Jolie Bay (Fastnet Rock).

Legally Bay is a half-sister to Myer Classic (registered as Empire Rose Stakes) (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Bonaria (Redoute's Choice) and Group 3 winner Time Out (Rory's Jester), while she is also a half-sister to the dam of Group 3-winning pair Tessara (Medaglia d'Oro) and Montsegur (New Approach).

Bayrock's two-year-old is now named Espionage, who was purchased by David Ellis for  NZ$875,000 at the 2020 New Zealand Bloodstock National Karaka Yearling Sale.

Shadwell and Lindsay Park teamed up earlier on in the afternoon at Pakenham, when Albukhturi (3 c Iffraaj - Our Essence by O'Reilly) saluted the judge for the first time when landing the Moncellars Wine & Spirits Maiden Plate (1200m).

The three-year-old son of former Haunui Farm shuttler Iffraaj (Zafonic), who holds and an entry for the VRC Derby (Gr 1, 2500m), beat Divine Rule (Medaglia d'Oro) by a nose, while Cometh The Hour (Real Impact) was three-quarters of a length further back in third.

"I reckon he's a horse we'll probably place a little bit easier and hopefully get his confidence up," Hayes said.

"We'll try him out on a trip next start in a nice ratings race, maybe at Sandown and then we'll go from there.

"He's bred to get over a lot further than a mile and hopefully we can get him out to those sort of trips."

Purchased by De Burgh Equine and Shadwell Stud for NZ$360,000 at Book 1 of the 2019 New Zealand Bloodstock National Karaka Yearling Sale, the colt is one of three winners out of two-time winning O'Reilly (Last Tycoon) mare Our Essence.

Our Essence herself is out of Group 3 winner The Perfume Garden (Tights), the grandam of Group 2 winner Sky Boy (Pendragon).

Our Essence's 2018 filly foal by Iffraaj was purchased by John Foote Bloodstock for NZ$220,000 at this year's New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale and she produced another filly by Iffraaj last year.

Iffraaj will be replaced at Haunui Farm by his son Ribchester and he will stand for a fee of NZ$15,000 this year.
