Dual Group 2-placed filly See You Soon (Siyouni) has been retired after failing to load into the barriers at the Rosehill trials on Monday morning.

"It is frustrating because she didn't get to deliver what she could," her trainer Jean Dubois told Racenet.

"She had some bad luck in a Group 2 and was second in a Golden Gift.

"She had the ability to go a bit further and win some good races but you have to bounce back and find another one.

"It was an easy decision to retire her when she didn't want to (race). We don't want her to hurt herself because you never know, she could slip over and hurt herself.

"She is too valuable as a broodmare and we don't want to take any risks. If she doesn't want to go in, you never know what can happen."

The filly retires the winner of one of her five starts, but showed good talent in stakes class, finishing second in the Reisling Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) and third in the Percy Sykes Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m).

The filly is out of Prix d'Aumale (Gr 3, 1600m) winner Soneva (Cherokee Run), making her a half-sister to four-time Listed winner The Blue Eyes (Dubawi).

Soneva herself is a half-sister to Listed winner Coronado Rose (Coronado's Quest).

Further back, See You Soon's third dam is Lakab (Manila) and she produced Grade 3 winner Hessonite (Freud) and Listed-winning duo Roanoke (Danehill) and European Rose (Nureyev).

Lakab is also the grandam of dual Group 1 winner Anabandana (Anabaa), Group 2 winner Hardham (Redoute's Choice), Listed-winning Gybe (Fastnet Rock) and New Zealand 1,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1200m) winner King's Rose (Redoute's Choice), who in turn produced Japanese dual Grade 3 winner Satono Arthur (Deep Impact).
