Redoute’s Choice filly wins at Warwick Farm.
The Mark Newnham-trained Miravalle (3 f ex Redoute's Choice - Condesaar by Xaar) made the perfect start to her three-year-old career when scoring over 1400 metres at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
The Arrowfield Stud-owned Miravalle finished 12th on her only start as a two-year-old, but she showed promise when coming home a neck ahead of Yangtze Rapids (Frankel), while Jack The Lad (I Am Invincible) finished another three-quarters of a length back in third.
Newnham will put her on a similar path to his other star filly Maid Of Heaven (Smart Missile), who was also raced by Arrowfield Stud, and head towards the Flight Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) and Spring Champion Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m).
"I'd like to head her towards the Flight Stakes and Champion Stakes," Newnham said.
"I think she is a filly that, once she gets to a mile and 2000 she's going to be really effective."
Purchased by Rick Worthington for $460,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Miravalle is out of Condesaar (Xaar), making her a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Yankee Rose (All American) and three-time winner Great Dansaar (Choisir) - the dam of Group 2-placed Isotope (Deep Field).
Condesaar herself is a half-sister to New Zealand Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Redoute's Dancer (Redoute's Choice).
Further back this is the same family as top-flight winning pair Condessa (Condorcet) and Tout Seul (Ali-Royal).
In 2018 Condesaar produced a colt by former Darley shuttler Medaglia d'Oro (El Prado), before foaling another filly by the late Arrowfield Stud-based sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill) the following season and she has most recently been covered by Rosemont Stud resident Starcraft (Soviet Star).
