Former Haunui Farm shuttler Showcasing (Oasis Dream) sired his 43rd stakes winner as Showmanship (5 g ex Khales by Don Eduardo) landed the Bendigo Bank Handicap (Listed, 1200m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

The Grant and Alana Williams-trained five-year-old gelding beat Felicia (Unencumbered) by a length and a quarter, while Age Of Chivalry (He’s Remarkable) finished another length further back in third.

“He’s pretty easy to do anything with. He’s come over here and settled in really well,” Grant Williams said.

Williams said he would speak to the horse’s owner Bob Peters about his next start, although they had brought him across to tackle the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) at Caulfield.

“Winning today keeps our options open,” Williams said.

Purchased by John Chalmers Bloodstock for NZ$145,000 at the 2017 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka National Yearling Sale, the five-year-old gelding is out of Khales (Don Eduardo), making him a half-brother to Listed winner Bahana (Elusive Quality).

Khales herself is out of Group 2 winner Precious Glitter (Danehill), who is herself a half-sister to Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed Beauty Watch (Belong To Me) and fellow Group 3 winner Top Of My List (High Chaparral).

Showcasing shuttled to New Zealand for seven seasons and he now stands exclusively at Whitsbury Manor Stud where his fee in 2020 was advertised as £55,000. His progeny include Group 1 winners Advertise and Quiet Reflection whilst his son Mohaather landed the Sussex Stakes (Gr 1, 1m) at Goodwood in July and he is currently sitting tenth in the leading sires table in Great Britain by earnings and fifth in the table by winners.
