A pair of colt's by Newgate Farm's first season sires Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt) and Winning Rupert (Written Tycoon) won their prospective 650 metre jump-outs at Caulfield on Tuesday morning.

The colt by Winning Rupert - now named Media Empire - and trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent jnr overcame a slow start to hit the line strongly.

Purchased by his trainer and Dermot Farrington for $90,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, he is out of Listed-winning Bellamy Road (Concerto) mare Embellished, who has already produced one winner.

Further back the colt's third dam Titled (Impressive) produced dual Grade 2 winner Fit For A Queen (Fit To Fight) and Listed winner Royal Assault (Kris S), who was also placed at Grade 1 level.

Meanwhile in Heat 4, Price and Kent jnr were represented by a colt by Extreme Choice - who is named Red Rocketship. He was quick out of the gates and led all the way to post an impressive win.

The colt was purchased by Mitchell Bloodstock for $130,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale and then bought by Price and Suman Hedge Bloodstock for $180,000 at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Red Rocketship is a son of four-time winner Pink Perfection (Mossman), who is herself out of La Mamma Rosa (Testa Rossa).

La Mamma Rosa herself is out of Listed winner Sound Positive (Sound Reason) and she is also the dam of Spinning Con (Spinning World).

Further back this is the same family as 1987 Queensland Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Round The World (Sea Anchor).
