Two juvenile trials were held at Rosehill on Monday morning and the most expensive yearling to sell this year by Vinery Stud stallion Star Turn (Star Witness) won heat five. Trained by Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes, as his sire was, Montana Flash was bought for $550,000 from the draft of Glenlogan Park by Hawkes Racing at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in January and is owned in a partnership that includes Rupert Legh, Vinery Stud, Glentree Racing and Glenlogan Park.

Having his first trial, Montana Flash was settled last with Caboteur (So You Think) racing a little keenly in front. The winner came down the outside in the straight and showed a good turn of foot to beat Caboteur by a half-length with Maven Spirit (Wandjina) a close third. The winner recorded a time of 56.61 seconds for the 900 metres.

Montana Flash is out of the once-raced Encosta De Lago (Fairy King) mare Dukemore who has produced two winners to date and is herself a daughter of Listed winner Allez France (Hennessy) making her a half-sister to fellow Listed winner Superfly (Rock Of Gibraltar) and the dam of Listed winning gelding Tiesto (Tough Speed).

The second of the two-year-old heats - heat six over 900 metres - was won by the Chris Waller-trained filly She's All Class (I Am Invincible). Under Hugh Bowman, the daughter of I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) took the lead early, leading the field by two and a half lengths. Around the turn she maintained her lead and was asked to quicken over the closing stages to hold off Beep Test (All Too Hard) by a length and a quarter. Queen Of Wizardry (Not A Single Doubt) was the same distance back in third.

The filly scored in a slightly quicker time, compared to heat for colts and geldings, of 53.88 seconds.

Bought by Brae Sokolski for $200,000 at this year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, She's All Class is out of the unraced Viscount (Quest For Fame) mare Shirra Nui who has produced five winners from as many foals to race. Her second dam is the South African-bred Grade 3 winner Geordoba (Cordoba) who has produced six winners headed by Listed winning gelding Khemosabi (Commands). Further back this is the family of Gold Medallion Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Villandry (Var).
