Daughter of I Am Invincible crowned Champion 3YO Filly

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Loving Gaby (I Am Invincible) was crowned Champion 3YO Filly at Monday’s awards. 

The Phoenix Thoroughbred-owned filly won the Manikato Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) and the William Reid Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) and also placed in the Sprint Classic (Gr 1, 1200m), Black Caviar Lightning (Gr 1, 100m) and Newmarket Handicap (Gr 1, 1200m). 

Bought by Phoenix Thoroughbreds for $500,000 from the draft of co-breeder Kia Ora Stud at the 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, the daughter of Yarraman Park’s I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) is out of Group 2 placed Mastercraftsman (Danehill Dancer) mare Maastricht who is herself a half-sister to Goodwood Handicap (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Velocitea (Volksraad). 

The other awards went to Nature Strip (Nicconi) who was crowned both Champion Sprinter of the Year and 2019/20 Australian Racehorse of the Year. Regal Power (Pierro) and Fierce Impact (Deep Impact) shared the Champion Middle Distance Horses of the Year award while Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) winner Vow And Declare (Declaration Of War) was Champion Stayer of the Year.
