The Ballarat Turf Club held two clockwise jump-outs ahead of the Magic Millions 2YO Clockwise Classic (1000m) on November 21 and both trials were won by the progeny of Newgate Stud's first-season sire Winning Rupert (Written Tycoon).

The first of the 800 metre heats was taken out by the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Prince Amongst Men and he jumped keenly from the inside barrier. After settling on the speed the colt showed a good turn of foot to pull clear in the closing stages to come away with a three length win in a time of 49.12 seconds.

Prince Amongst Men was purchased by Price for $110,000 at this year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and he is out of Listed winner Tenant's Tiara (Beautiful Crown), making him a half-brother to 2014 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1100m) winner Zoutenant (Zizou).

The second heat was won by the Matt Laurie-trained Ranveer, and he jumped from the widest barrier before leading the field and kicking away in the straight to also win by three lengths in a slightly quicker time of 48.6 seconds.

A $200,000 purchase by his trainer at the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale from the draft of the Western Breeders Alliance, the colt is out of the winning California Dane (Danehill) mare Bitter Twist, who is herself a half-sister to Hoegaarden (Flying Spur).

Further back this is the same family as multiple Group 1 winner Intergaze (Integra).

The son of Written Tycoon (Iglesia) is standing at Newgate Farm for a fee of $16,500 (inc GST).
