Woodside Park Stud's second season sire Rich Enuff (Written Tycoon) was handed his second stakes winner on Thursday as his daughter Dosh (2 f ex Raise Up by Shovhog) prevailed in close finish to land the Ottawa Stakes (Gr 3, 1000m) at Flemington.

The two-year-old led throughout under Jordan Childs and almost threw away victory inside the final 100 metres when greenly veering towards the outside rail, but just held on to beat Nice For What (Shalaa) by a nose. Butter Blonde (Choisir) was another length away in third.

Grahame Begg said he would spell Dosh in preparation for next year's two-year-old features.

"She's out of a great (that) goes back to Bold Promise, Dear Demi and Capitalist, they're all the same family, and Merlene, it's a great fillies family," Begg said.

"I'm sure that she's going to be a very valuable filly in the future.

"She'll be put away. She hasn't a long time off from the time we broke her in, came back into the stable and through the preparation.

"She only had a couple of weeks off, she'll go out, she's done a massive job but she's a massive 'doer' in the stable."

Bought for $155,000 by Grahame Begg Racing at this year's Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, the two-year-old is out of six-time winner Shovhog (Danehill) mare Raise Up, who has already produced one winner.

Bred by Glenlogan Park, Dosh's third dam is Game Dame (Bold Aussie), who in turn produced dual Group 2 winner Bold Promise (Luskin Star) - the dam of dual Group 1 winner Merlene (Danehill). Merlene produced South African Grade 2 scorer Merlene De Lago (Encosta De Lago) and the dam of VRC Oaks (Gr 1, 2500m) scorer Dear Demi (Dehere).

Bold Promise is also the dam of dual Group 1 winner Miss Moneypenny (Brocco) and Compulsion (Danehill) - the dam of Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner and now Newgate Farm stallion Capitalist (Written Tycoon) and Group 3 winner Red Excitement (Excites).

Raise Up foaled another filly by Rich Enuff last month having not produced a foal last year. The Woodside Park-based Rich Enuff is standing for a fee of $8,800 (inc GST) having stood the last two seasons for $12,100 (inc GST). His first stakes stakes winner was the Listed winner Plutocrat and he's currently sitting 15th in the leading second season sires table by earnings in Australia.
