Written Tycoon (Iglesia) extraordinary season took a further step forward on Thursday, as his daughter Written Beauty (3 f ex Beauty World by Danehill Dancer) landed the Red Roses Stakes (Gr 3, 1100m) at Flemington and in the process became stakes winner number 40 for the Arrowfield Stud-based sire.

The Team Hawkes-trained three-year-old filly looked a stakes winner in the making with the only defeat of her five start career coming when she finished second at the Gold Coast on debut and she took her career to the next level on Thursday when beating Marboosha (Dream Ahead) by a neck. Celestine (Nicconi) was another half a length away in third.

Co-trainer Wayne Hawkes said the filly - who was bred and is raced by Orbis Bloodstock - is still unfurnished and will be even better when she eventually matures.

"You could see that Willie [Pike] was trying to get in and get behind them but he just couldn't quite bring her back (to do that)," said Hawkes. "Mind you, the second horse was in the same sort of rut, we were both facing the breeze but she's got a lot of upside and she's at the end of her tether. This will be the least of where she's going to go.

"She's got a massive upside and she's going to be some filly when she matures. Truthfully it is more about mentally than physically because she's a brute of a horse now. We just need to get her mentally more on song and she'll be away.

"What's great about her is the owners. Her owners are great. They've been great supporters of ours and we thank Orbis very, very much. They've had a great spring with Doubtland, etc.

"She had her chance to get beaten. For a couple of strides there I though 'aw', but she just kept coming. It's funny up the straight when you watch them they look like they're half in slo-mo, they don't look like they're going that hard. But when you look at the sectionals they were certainly running along pretty quick."

Written Beauty is out of two time-winning Danehill Dancer (Danehill) mare Beauty World, making her a half-sister to dual Group 3 winner winners Lite'n In My Veins (Henrythenavigator), Ducimus (Snitzel) and Hi World (High Chaparral) as well as Listed winner Loveyamadly (Bel Esprit), who in turn produced Group 3 winner Immortal Love (Snitzel).

Beauty World herself is a half-sister to Listed winner Firenza (Kenny's Best Pal) - the dam of dual Group 3 scorer Tuscan Sling (Danehill Dancer) and stakes-placed Arrival (Choisir), who in turn produced Listed winner Assertive Approach (Akeed Mofeed).

Further afield, Group 3 winner Kiwia (Reset) and Listed winner Violet (Mint Lane) also feature on the pedigree.

Written Beauty becomes the third stakes winner bred on Written Tycoon / Danehill Dancer cross, joining Group 1 winner Music Magnate and Listed scorer It Is Written.

Written Tycoon - who was relocated to Arrowfield Stud from Woodside Park Stud - has made an extraordinary start to the season, with Written Beauty becoming his ninth individual stakes winner and his stakes haul this term includes three top-flight scorers; Ole Kirk, Odeum and Pippie.

Written Beauty's victory comes two days after the stallion recorded a stakes double, with Finance Tycoon winning the Maribyrnong Plate (Gr 3, 1000m) and Rich Hips landing the Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m) on Melbourne Cup day. The stallion is standing for a fee of $77,000 (inc GST) having covered a book of 137 mares at a fee of $110,000 (inc GST) at Woodside Park last year.
