The mare was out of unraced Alleged (Hoist The Flag) mare Open Question, making her a half-sister to dual Group 2 winner Paris Dream (Personal Hope) and fellow Group 2 winner Binding (Belong To Me).
The mare’s first produce was Delta Form (Marscay), who landed a Grade 2 in America and a Listed race in South Africa, while he was also placed at Grade 1 level in the US.
The first filly foal of Arborea was the dual winning Tycoon Tess (Last Tycoon), who in turn produced Listed winner Tai Tai Tess (Magic Albert), who has proved herself a lucrative asset in the sales ring with her three for foals by I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) selling for an aggregate of $4,125,000.
The second filly foal of Arborea, Delicate Choice (Last Tycoon) is the dam of Group 2 scorer and now stallion Drumbeats (Redoute’s Choice).
After producing three foals in Australia, the mare was sent to America and two of her US-bred fillies produced stakes winners, with Sunday Sensation (Royal Academy) the dam of Champion Turf Male in Peru in 2013-14, Szumul (Showing Up), while Attessa (Belong To Me) is the dam of South African Grade 3 scorer High Seas Beauty (High Chaparral).
Pensioned in 2013, Arborea has been in the ownership of John and Deb Camilleri since her return to Australia in 2006.
It is with absolute sadness that we have to report that champion Arborea died as her enormous heart gave way at 30 years of age . Bred by @NewhavenPark who always checked on her welfare and owned by John and Deb Camilleri who looked after her as she deserved . RIP pic.twitter.com/qQDrwYKqWG
