Mapperley Stud-based second season sire Contributer (High Chaparral) sired his sixth winner when his son Dhakuri (3 g ex Nanda Kot by Encosta De Lago) landed the Sky Racing Active Maiden Plate (1800m) at Rosehill on Friday.

The gelding is bred by Godolphin, who raced Contributer and the operation supported him with their mares when he retired to the New Zealand nursery, and he got off the mark at the fourth attempt when he defeated Bella Violet (Foxwedge) by a head, while La Sagra (Snitzel) was a further length and quarter away in third.

The gelding is one of six winners out of three time-winning Encosta De Lago (Fairy King) mare Nanda Knot and her progeny is headed by stakes-placed Kumaon (Lonhro). The mare was purchased by Rathosheen Bloodstock from Godolphin for $35,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

Nanda Knot is herself out of stakes-placed mare Shalang (Langfuhr), who is the grandam of Group 3 winner Sadler’s Lake (High Chaparral).

Shalang is a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Shame (Scenic) - the dam of Group 3 scorer Demerit (Lonhro).

In 2020 Nanda Knot produced a filly by Aquis Farm-based sire Santos (I Am Invincible).

Contributer’s six winner’s includes two stakes placegetters and he stands for a fee of NZ$10,000 (plus GST).
