Exceed And Excel colt Jumbo Goal also lands Warwick Farm trial
Sweet Magnolia - a filly by Arrowfield Stud-based shuttler Shalaa (Invincible Spirit) - posted an impressive trial victory over 740 metres at Warwick Farm on Thursday.
Trained by Mark Newnham, the filly was quickly out of the barriers and sat in second under Joshua Parr. As the field entered the straight she breezed to the front to post a nose victory over Shocking Force - who is by former Coolmore Shuttler Air Force Blue (War Front) in a time of 44.11 seconds.
Sweet Magnolia is out of five time-winning Quest For Fame (Rainbow Quest) mare Tzu Hsi, making her a half-sister to 2014 Shannon Stakes (Gr 2, 1500m) winner Rock Sturdy (Fastnet Rock).
Tzu Hsi herself is a daughter three time winner Visual Emotion (Silver Deputy) and she is also the dam of Group 3 winning duo Sultry Feeling (Encosta De Lago) and Swift Alliance (Don Eduardo).
Sweet Magnolia's Caravaggio (Scat Daddy) half-brother will be offered by Gooree Park as Lot 400 at this year's Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

In the next trial of the morning, the Jumbo Goal - a son of Darley-based Exceed And Excel (Danehill) - did his best work late to beat Colour De Roy - who is by Newgate Farm-based first season sire Capitalist (Written Tycoon) - by a nose, stopping the clock at 44.83 seconds.
The Gary and John Moore-trained two-year-old was purchased by John's son George for $330,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale earlier this year and he is out of Group 3 scorer Whistling Dixie (Pins), who already produced one winner.
Whistling Dixie herself is a daughter of Listed scorer Atmosphere (Savabeel).
The colt's third dam is 1984 New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Zepherin (Zephyr Bay), who is also the dam of dual Group 2 winner Glenview (Sir Tristram) and she in turn produced Grade 1 scorer Timber Trader (Woodman).
Further back this is the same family Group 2 winner Zazzman (Distinctly North) and stakes-winning duo Bouzy Rouge (Snitzel) and Stay Seated (Langfuhr).
