Newgate Farm-based stallion Deep Field (Northern Meteor) was represented by his seventh stakes winner when the Tony Gollan-trained Isotope (3 f ex Great Dansaar by Choisir) landed the Mode Plate (Listed, 1200m) at Doomben on Saturday.

Last seen finishing second in over 1050 metres at the same track on November 7, the three-year-old filly stayed on strongly all the way to the line to beat Gotta Kiss (Not A Single Doubt) by three lengths, while Paredo (Better Than Ready) was another head away in third.

Purchased by her trainer, John Foote Bloodstock and Black Soil Bloodstock for $170,000 at last year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from Daandine Stud draft, the filly is out of three-time winning Choisir (Danehill Dancer) mare Great Dansaar, who is herself a sister to dual Group 1-winning filly Yankee Rose (All American).

Further back this is the same family dual Group 1 winner Redoute’s Dancer (Redoute’s Choice) and fellow elite level scorers Condessa (Condorcet) and Tout Seul (Ali-Royal).

Great Dansaar’s 2018 filly by Winning Rupert (Written Tycoon) was purchased by Darby Racing and De Burgh Equine for $90,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale earlier this year and she is now called Rupertaar and is unraced.

Daandine Stud will offer the mare’s Sebring (More Than Ready) colt at next year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and he is catalogued as Lot 357, while this season the mare produced a filly by Eureka Stud-based Spirit Of Boom (Sequalo) and has most recently been covered by Deep Field for a second time.

Deep Field stood at Newgate Farm for a fee of $55,000 (inc GST) in 2020 and he has 54 lots catalogued at the Magic Million Gold Coast Yearling Sale, which gets underway on January 12.
