The Chris Parnham-trained Rebel Heart (3 f More Than Ready - Rebel Sister by Falbrav) shed her maiden status at the second attempt as she landed the Mumm Champagne Maiden Plate (1500m) at Ascot on Wednesday and in the process handed her Snitzel (Redoute’s Choice) half-sister a timely update ahead of her selling on at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale next month.

The daughter of More Than Ready (Southern Halo) pulled clear to beat Chokslam (Smug) by a quarter of a length, while Keep It Hush (So Secret) was another three-quarters of a length away in third.

The filly is out of the unraced Falbrav (Fairy King) mare Rebel Sister, who in turn produced multiple-winning stakes scorers Rebel King (Universal King) and Rebelson (Snippetson), as well as stakes-placed Rebel Knight (Universal Ruler) and two further winners.

Rebel Sister is a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Black Heart Bart (Blackfriars) and his dam, Sister Theresa (At Talaq), is a half-sister Savannah Success (Success Express) - the dam of 2004 Cox Plate (Gr 1, 2040m) winner and five-time champion New Zealand stallion Savabeel (Zabeel).

Rebel Sister’s 2018 colt by Hinchinbrook (Fastnet Rock) - who has been gelded and named Sure No Something - was purchased by Spicer Thoroughbreds for $300,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, while Baramul Thoroughbreds will offer the mare’s aforementioned Snitzel filly at next year’s Gold Coast sale as Lot 689. https://catalogue.magicmillions.com.au/lot/21GPR/689

This season she produced a filly by Snitzel and was covered again by the four-time champion sire Snitzel again in November.

More Than Ready’s progeny is headed by 25 elite level winners and he shuttled to Vinery Stud for 19 seasons, but did not return in 2020 and he now resides at WinStar Farm where his fee for 2021 has been set at US$65,000, having stood the 2020 for US$80,000.
