Colt by Darley shuttler Frosted also impresses at Rosehill
There were some well-bred two-year-olds on show during the barrier trials at Rosehill on Friday headed by the Team Hawkes-trained Remarque (Snitzel) - who is a brother to 2018 Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Estijaab - and he landed his 900 metre heat.
Trialling in the famous yellow and black silks of Arrowfield Stud, who retained Remarque with and Katsumi Yoshida, the colt jumped smartly from the barriers and looked comfortable throughout the 900 metre heat, eventually gliding to a comfortable length victory over Ranch Hand (Fastnet Rock) in a winning time of 54.08 seconds.
The colt is out of Response (Charge Forward), who landed the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) in 2010, and her three winners are headed by the aforementioned Estijaab, who was also trained by Team Hawkes, and stakes-placed Alter Call (Fastnet Rock).
Response herself is a half-sister to the dam of Group 2 winner Returntosender (Elusive City).
Another one for @HawkesRacing as Snitzel colt Remarque does it well under @TommyBerry21 winning his first trial at @rosehillgardens on Friday from Ranch Hand and Sniper Legend. @tabcomau @ArrowfieldStud pic.twitter.com/6EPM57yv90

One heat earlier, Remarque’s stablemate Kooled - who is by first-season Darley shuttler Frosted (Tapit) - also produced an impressive win in his 900 metre heat.
The colt was settled back in the field by Jason Ford and was able to find a clear path up the fence to the lead to beat Jet Pack (Fastnet Rock) by an easy half a length, stopping the clock at 55.01 seconds.
The colt is out of winning One Cool Cat (Storm Cat) mare Dawned, making him a half-brother to Dawn Dawn (All Too Hard).
Dawned herself is a half-sister to Beat The Fade (Maroof) and Group 3 scorer Dawn Till Dusk (Manntari), while she is also a half-sister to Singapore Champion Infantry (Tavistock).

Meanwhile, well-bred Mura Mura (Not A Single Doubt) also posted a convincing trial 900 metre win at Rosehill on Friday.
The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained daughter of Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice) raced in third under Kerrin McEvoy and after getting left behind by the leaders, kicked off round the bend to roll home a length and a quarter ahead of Vandoula Lass (Vancouver) in a time of 54.10 seconds.
The filly was purchased by Stonestreet Stables for $650,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Arrowfield Stud draft earlier this year and she is out of Listed-placed Northern Meteor (Encosta De Lago) mare Mount Zero.
Mount Zero herself is out of stakes winner Beauty School (Royal Academy).
The filly’s third dam is Salamore (Vain) - the dam of South African Listed winner Petite Dane (Danehill), who in turn produced fellow South African stakes winner Danish Silver (Silvano).
Further back, the filly also hails from the family of Group 3 winner Tallow (Street Cry) - the dam of last season’s Golden Slipper Stakes winner Farnan (Not A Single Doubt) and Listed scorer Sandbar (Snitzel).
Arrowfield Stud will offer a Redoute’s Choice (Danehill) three-quarter brother to Mura Mura at next month’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and he will be offered a Lot 576.
