All Too Hard filly lands second stakes race in Gosford Guineas
The Richard and Michael Freedman-trained Forbidden Love (3 f All Too Hard - Juliet's Princess by More Than Ready) put herself in the reckoning for the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (RL, 1400m) at the Gold Coast on January 16 with a fine win in the Gosford Guineas (Listed, 1200m) at Gosford on Tuesday.
Last seen running a good third in the Empire Rose Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m), having landed the Reginald Allen Handicap (Listed, 1400m) on her previous start, the daughter of All Too Hard (Casino Prince) added a second stakes win to her record when she defeated The Face (Rubick) by a length, while Marsannay (Snitzel) was the same distance away in third.
"She's a beauty, isn't she? She does everything you ask her to do, one of those fillies from the very start that wants to be a racehorse," Richard Freedman said.
"I am not sure she was totally comfortable in the wet ground. She seemed to hit a couple of flat spots, but James did a great job from where he was. He was three deep, but he was only travelling straight and he had some cover. So, it may not have been such a disadvantage as it appears.
"There is definite improvement in her, but there will need to be to win the (Magic Millions) Guineas. I'm just delighted to see her get the job done today for some really nice people.
"I bought her at the Magic Millions. She was my top pick from the ones I could afford. I did not want to spend any more than $200,000 and she made $150,000 and she has just been a gem."
Purchased by Richard Freedman for $150,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft, the filly is one of two winners out of stakes-placed More Than Ready (Southern Halo) mare Juliet's Princess.
The filly’s third dam is Bangkok (Riverman), who is the dam of Grade 3 winner River Squall (Summer Squall) and Listed scorer Scenic Point (Unbridled) - the dam of Grade 3 scorer Better Now (Thunder Gulch) and Listed winner La Mejor Fiesta (Harlan’s Holiday).
Bangkok is also the dam of Listed winner Eastern Dude (Dahar), while she is also the grandam of three-time Grade 3 scorer Heavenly Landing (Pulpit).
Juliet’s Princess colt by Foxwedge (Fastnet Rock) - now named Royal Fox - was purchased by Matthew Williams Racing for $40,000 at the 2020 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling and after missing to Arrowfield Stud shuttler Shalaa (Invincible Spirit) in 2019, the mare produced a colt by Darley Stud sire Epaulette (Commands) this season.
All Too Hard’s progeny is headed by Group 1-winning pair Alligator Blood and Behemoth and he stands at Vinery Stud at a fee of $27,500 (inc GST).
