Exosphere gelding’s half-brother catalogued at Karaka 2021.
Having finished second on his three previous starts, the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Exoboom (3 g Exosphere - First Bloom by Dylan Thomas) finally got his head in front when he cantered to an emphatic victory in the Lakes Printers Maiden Plate (1350m) at Wyong on Saturday.
The son of Darley Stud-based Exosphere (Lonhro) looked the winner the whole way and he was able to pull away to beat Mon Amore (Sebring) by an ultra impressive six and three-quarter lengths, while Mandalorian (Va Pensiero) was another half a length away in third.
The gelding was bought by Musk Creek Farm for $75,000 at the 2018 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale from the Newgate Farm draft, before being purchased by Triple Crown Syndications for $70,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale the following year.
The gelding is the first winner out of stakes-placed First Bloom (Dylan Thomas), who is herself a daughter of Group 3-placed Celtic Boom (Celtic Swing).
Further afield the gelding's fourth dam is Listed winner Paradis Plumes (Kaoru Star) - the dam of Group 3 winner Preened (Ivory Hunter) and Listed scorer Mint Machine (One Pound Sterling).
First Bloom's gelding by Flying Artie (Artie Schiller) was purchased by Te Akau's David Ellis for NZ$45,000 at last year's New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale, with the gelding having been bought by Kilgravin Lodge for $30,000 at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale in 2019.
Mapperley Stud will offer Exoboom's Capitalist (Written Tycoon) half-brother during Book 1 of the New Zealand Bloodstock's Karaka 2021 sale which gets underway on January 24 and he is catalogued as Lot 403.
Exosphere's progeny is headed by Group 2 scorer Thermosphere and he has five entries set to go through the ring at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
