The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Satin Ribbons - who is by Newgate Farm-based first-season sire Capitalist (Written Tycoon) - posted the quickest time of the morning in her 900 metre heat at the Rosehill trials on Monday.

Ridden by Robbie Dolan, the filly jumped smartly from her barrier and after racing keenly in the first few hundred metres, she settled well to come away with a five length victory over Authentic Jewel (I Am Invincible) in a slick time of 53.92 seconds.

Bred by Belinda Bateman, the filly is out of Group 2 winner Satin Shoes (Flying Spur), making her a half-sister to 2017 ATC Gimcrack Stakes (Gr 3, 1000m) winner Satin Slipper (Pierro) and another winner.

Satin Shoes herself is a daughter of Group 1 winner Star Satire (Volksraad) and she also produced dual Group 2 scorer Zarzuela (Zabeel), who in turn produced Group 3 winner Serious Satire (More Than Ready).

Further back this is the same family as Group 3 winner Soubrettes (High Chaparral) and Listed scorer Shoboard (Show A Heart) - the dam of fellow stakes winner Granny Red Shoes (Not A Single Doubt).

Capitalist - who has sired two winners so far this season - has 48 lots catalogued at next week’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, which gets underway a week on Tuesday.

Later on in the morning, the Bjorn Baker-trained O'Not A Doubt (Not A Single Doubt) also won his 900 metre trial.

The son of Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice) was quick out of the blocks under Rachel King and raced in the lead for most of the contest, but he hit the line strongly to stave off the challenge of Cork Harbour (Snitzel) to come out on top of a head-bobbing finish in a time of 55.69 seconds.

Purchased by his trainer and Jim Clarke for NZ$125,000 at the 2020 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale from the Hallmark Stud draft, the colt is out of the unraced Hussonet (Mr Prospector) mare Esclalera.

The colt hails from the same family as dual Group 1 winner Final Destination (O’Reilly) - the dam of Japanese Grade 3 winner Final Form (Deep Impact).

Further back the colt’s fourth dam is dual Group 2 scorer Society Bay (Zephyr Bay) - the dam of Group 2 winner Society Beau (Bigstone) as well as Listed scorer Sandblaster (Sandtrap), while she is the dam of Group 1 winner Irish Fling (Darci Brahma).

This is also the same family as last season’s Stradbroke Handicap (Gr 1, 1400m) winner Tyzone (Written Tycoon).
