The Chris Anderson-trained Rubiquitous (2 g Rubick - Novaspirit by Bel Esprit) got his career off to the perfect start when he made a winning debut over 1000 metres at the Sunshine Coast on Friday.

Bred by Stallion Racing Australia, the son of Coolmore Stud-based Rubick (Encosta De Lago) beat Clairvue Lady (More Than Ready) by a length and a quarter, while Address Unknown (Dissident) was another two and a quarter lengths away in third.

Purchased by his trainer and Steve Morley Bloodstock for $35,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale from the Amarina Farm draft, the two-year-old gelding is out of three-time winner Novaspirit (Bel Esprit), making him a brother to two winners, Listed-placed One Shy Ruby and Cubix.

The gelding’s third dam is Group 3-placed Novajinsky (Celestial Dancer), while stakes winner King Latarmiss (Latarmiss) features further down the page.

Amarina Farm will offer Rubiquitous’ brother as Lot 195 at this year’s Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and he is one of 31 yearlings catalogued at the Sydney Sale.
