Glenfiddich (Fastnet Rock) will miss the autumn after suffering an injury trainer Peter Moody has confirmed. Connections will make a decision whether to rehab or retire the colt.

Glenfiddich has raced 12 times for two wins and four placings with his biggest victory coming in the Stutt Stakes (Gr 2, 1600m) last September whilst he also placed second in the Champagne Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) as a two-year-old. Moody had been considering the Australian Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) and All-Star Mile (1600m) at possible targets for the son of Fastnet Rock (Danehill) this preparation.

“Disappointed to announce our 3yo colt Glenfiddich will miss autumn carnival due to a injury sustained to his off foreleg. Owners will decide over weekend regarding rehab or retirement,” Moody tweeted.

Another who will miss the autumn is Ain’tnodeeldun (Dundeel) who has sustained an injury to his pelvis. The Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained colt won his last two starts, both at Listed level, in the spring having broken his maiden at Sale in September the start prior.

Part-owner David Kobritz of Musk Creek said that he is hopeful that Ain’tnodeeldun will be back next spring.

“I think it’s a lengthy spell,” Kobritz told RSN 927’s Racing Pulse. ‘’Probably four months plus and crossed fingers and toes it is that (pelvis injury) and nothing more serious and we have him back it the spring.”
