Anthony Mithen’s Rosemont Stud has bought into the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained juvenile colt Extreme Warrior (Extreme Choice) who lines up in next week’s Blue Diamond Preview (C&G) (Listed, 1000m).

Bought for $160,000 by Mick Price Racing and Dermot Farrington from the draft of Glenlogan Park at last year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Extreme Warrior placed second in his only start when beaten a length and a quarter by Fake Love (I Am Invincible) in the Debutant Stakes (Listed, 1000m) at Caulfield last October.

‘’He’s a colt that is a half to Thrillster and one of the guys that was in Thrillster and Free Thrills kindly said we should be in this horse because we were in the rest of the family and that he’s a colt with a stallion prospect,’’ Mithen told Racing.com.

‘’We managed to come to terms and the other owners were happy enough to see a half-brother to Thrillster run in the Rosemont colours starting with Preview on Tuesday.

‘’We’ve got Thrillster and Free Thrills at the farm. Free Thrills is in foal to Starspangledbanner and Thrillster is in foal to I Am invincible so it’s a nice story to continue on with the family with a colt that one day could find himself at stud.’’

By Newgate Farm’s Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt), who Price trained to win the 2016 Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m), Extreme Warrior is out of the winning Show A Heart (Brave Warrior) mare Heart Of Thrills making him a half-brother to Listed winner and Group 2-placed filly Thrillster (Starspangledbanner) as well as the stakes-placed filly Free Thrills (Unencumbered), who both raced in the Rosemont colours.

‘’He’s trialed really well and he looks a live chance in the Blue Diamond,’’ Mithen added. ‘’He beat Dosh in a nice jump-out at Sandown last week and it’s nice to have a share in a fast one.’’
