Ethical Solution scores a strong victory in the Bow Mistress
Sunday’s Bow Mistress (Gr 3, 1200m) at Hobart was won by the Lloyd Kennewell-trained Ethical Solution (4 m ex Miss Ethics by Count Dubois) and in winning the Group 3 the mare became the tenth stakes winner for Rosemont Stud-based sire Shamus Award (Snitzel).
Owned by Ultra Racing, Ethical Solution was having the 16th start of her career and was winning for the sixth time. She was last at the home turn and on straightening came between runners, took the lead and ran on to post a two length victory over Street Icon (Street Boss). There was another four and a half lengths back to Runaway Girl (Sebring) in third.
Ethical Solution is one of three winners and becomes the first stakes winner for Grade 3-winning South African-bred mare Miss Ethics (Count Dubois) who was bought by Appollis Edwin for R70,000 at the 2005 Cape Yearling Sale.
Shamus Award stood for a fee of $19,800 (inc GST) at Rosemont Stud last year and he has five lots catalogued at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, which gets underway Oaklands Junction on 28 February.
