1. First season sires came to the fore again on Saturday, with Capitalist and Sooboog registering new winners, five and four respectively. While at Randwick, Extreme Choice colt Stay Inside raced into Golden Slipper (Gr 1, 1200m) contention and Frosted’s Ingratiating took out the Talindert Stakes (Listed, 1100m) ahead of a Blue Diamond (Gr 1, 1200m) start.

2. In what looks a particularly good group of first season sires, Capitalist leads Shalaa with Flying Artie in third in the leading first season sires table by earnings.

3. Zoustar registered his 17th stakes winner and sixth for the season when Zou Dancer scored a facile victory in the Vanity Stakes (G 3, 1400m) at Flemington. He is the youngest stallion in the top ten leading sires of Australia by earnings and sits in equal fifth on the leading sires by stakes winners.

4. Swettenham shuttler Toronado sired two new stakes winners on Saturday with Masked Crusader winning the Southern Cross Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) at Randwick and Solaia won the Challenge Stakes (Listed, 1500m) at Ascot. He is now the sire of 10 stakes winners.

5. Savabeel continued his good run siring his fourth stakes winner in seven days when Amarelinha won the Fillies Classic (Gr 2, 2000m) at Te Rapa - Probabeel, Tabata and Tilianam being the others. Savabeel is the sire of 112 stakes winners in total.

6. Other new stakes winners:

169 for Deep Impact - Akaitorino Musume won the Queen Cup (Gr 3, 1600m) at Tokyo.

49th stakes winner and ninth Group One for Medicean - Royal Performer won the Herbie Dyke Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) at Te Rapa.

Eight for Redwood - Tokorangi won the Waikato Guineas (Gr 2, 2000m) at Te Rapa.

Four for Shooting To Win - Tailleur won the Triscay Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) at Randwick.
