Courchevel catalogued for Chairman's Sale, Astern and Frosted add new winners and entries for Magic Millions National Sale have opened

1. Inglis have announced the addition of Courchevel, an unraced half-sister to Winx in foal to Capitalist, to it’s Chairman’s Sale. Courchevel joins Pippie, Danzdanzdance, Lankan Star and Mildred as headline entries for the sale to be held on May 7.

2. Darley first-season sires Astern and Frosted sired their first and third Australian bred winners when Cloudy (Frosted) and Seradess (Astern) dead-heated at Bendigo in a 1000m Maiden on Tuesday.

3. Haut Brion Her and Prague both posted strong performances at the Canterbury barrier trials on Tuesday winning their respective heats over 900m. Haut Brion Her will either resume in the Challenge Stakes (Gr 2, 1000m) or the Newmarket Handicap (Gr 1, 1200m) while Prague continues his preparation in the Randwick Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m).

4. The weights for the Doncaster Mile (Gr 1, 1600m), Sydney Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) and Newmarket Handicap (Gr 1, 1200m) were all released on Tuesday.

5. The entries for the Magic Millions National Sale have opened with the closing date for the weanlings, yearlings, race fillies and broodmares closing on March 19, while the racehorses close on May 25.

6. WorkSafe has issued six charges against Cranbourne Turf Club and two against Salon Park training stables relating to the death of track rider Mikaela Claridge.

7. Artorius moved to the head of the Timeform 2YO table posting a rating of 118 for his victory in the Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) on Saturday. 

8. Spendthrift Farm, Coolmore America and Three Chimney’s Farm have filed a lawsuit challenging The Jockey Club’s stallion cap rule which intends to restrict the number of mares covered by a stallion to 140 in a year.
