The Annabel Neasham-trained Prague (Redoute’s Choice) produced an impressive trial victory over 905 metres at Canterbury on Tuesday.

Prague was tardy to leave the barriers and had to be coaxed along early by Tommy Berry to get on terms with the rest of the field. After racing wide to the turn, the colt was settled in second and was encouraged down the straight by Berry to come away with a length and quarter victory over Jungle Edge (Dubawi). The clock was stopped at 53.51.

The dual Group 3 winner kicked off his autumn campaign with a third place finish behind Peltzer (So You Think) in the Eskimo Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) at Randwick on February 6. The son of Redoute's Choice (Danehil) holds nominations for the Randwick Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) on March 6, Rosehill Guineas (Gr 1, 2000m) on March 20, TJ Smith Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) on April 3, while the colt is also entered for the Arrowfield Sprint (Gr 2, 1200m) at Randwick on April 10.

Should Prague line-up in the Randwick Guineas on March 6, he could clash with his stablemate Mo’unga (Savabeel) after Neasham confirmed on Tuesday the colt would not tackle Saturday’s Australian Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) at Flemington and instead stay in Sydney with Tommy Berry set to take the ride on the colt in the Randwick Group 1.

The son of Savabeel (Zabeel) landed his first three starts for trainer Chris Waller, including the Dulcify Handicap (Listed, 1500m).

Managing owner Aquis Farm transferred the colt into Neasham's care ahead of his autumn campaign, which he kicked off with a good third in the CS Hayes Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m).

"We left our options fairly open but with COVID, I couldn't get down there after he ran (in the CS Hayes Stakes) so I brought him back up (to Sydney)," Neasham told SKY Thoroughbred Central.

"I just felt that a young horse like that, he's only had a few starts in his career, I didn't want to travel him twice in two weeks (to Melbourne)."
