Star Of The Seas lands Blamey Stakes
Star Of The Seas (6 g Ocean Park - Stella Livia by Titus Livius) gained a place in the All-Star Mile (1600m) with a narrow victory in the Blamey Stakes (Gr 2, 1600m) at Flemington on Saturday, his second win at stakes win and first at Group 2 level. Star Of The Seas is one of 13 stakes winners for Ocean Park (Thorn Park) who stand at Waikato Stud and he is a three quarter brother to Aquis Farm-based sire Spieth (Thorn Park). 
 

Six for Super Easy - Bonny Lass retains unbeaten record in Group 2
Bonny Lass (2 f Super Easy - Posh Bec by Le Bec Fin) kept her unbeaten record intact when she scored a determined three quarter of length victory in the Matamata Breeders Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) to give her Hallmark Stud-based sire Super Easy (Darci Brahma) his sixth stakes winner. Bonny Lass will now target the NZ Sires’ Produce Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) at Awapuni. The filly is the first stakes winner for her dam Posh Bec - herself the winner of three races, while she also finished second in the Soliloquy Stakes (Listed, 1400m).  
 

First Group win for Krone
The Tony Gollan-trained Krone (5 m Eurozone - Soft Landing by Al Maher) added a fourth stakes level victory and first Group win to her CV when she ran out a convincing one and three quarter length winner of the Guy Walter Stakes (Gr 2, 1400m) at Randwick on Saturday. The victory continues the good run of success for Roll The Dice racing who purchased Krone from the Rosemont Stud draft at the 2017 Magic millions 2YOs In Training Sale for $120,000. Krone is out of a half-sister to Group 1 winners Universal Prince (Scenic) and Universal Queen (Scenic).
 

Second Group 3 for Think It Over
Think It Over (5 g So You Think - Personal Service by Zabeel) scored an upset victory in the Liverpool City Cup (Gr 3, 1300m) at Randwick to register his second Group win. Think It Over is one of 31 stakes winners for his sire So You Think (High Chaparral) and is also out of a half-sister to Universal Prince and Universal Queen. Trainer Kerry Parker is now targeting a run in the Doncaster Miler (Gr 1, 1600m).
 

Two for Moshe
Mosh Music (6 m ex Dirt Music by Jeune) stayed on resolutely sustaining a long run from the back of the field to take out the Roy Higgins Stakes (Listed, 2600m) at Flemington on Saturday. The Archie Alexander-trained Mosh Music was winning her ninth race and first at stakes level in a 17 run career and the trainer is now eyeing a tilt at the Adelaide Cup (Gr 2, 3200m) with the mare. She becomes the second stakes winner for her sire Moshe (Bel Esprit), a 1000 metre-winning brother to champion sprinter Black Caviar (Bel Esprit).
 

27 Group winner for Testa Rossa
Chaillot (4 f ex Mary Of Modena by Encosta De Lago) gave her sire Testa Rossa (Perugino) his 27th Group winner and her trainer Archie Alexander a stakes double at Flemington on Saturday when winning the Frances Tressady Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m). The OTI Racing-owned Chaillot was a $25,000 purchase by her trainer and McKeever Bloodstock at the 2018 Magic Millions Yearling Sale from the draft of Baramul Stud.
 

Morvada lands Shaftesbury Avenue Handicap
Morvada (7 g Mossman - Carnegie Minstrel by Carnegie) led throughout to take out the Shaftesbury Avenue Handicap (Gr 3, 1400m) at Flemington to register his third stakes win and first at Group level, giving his sire Mossman (Success Express) his 28th Group winner. Morvada’s trainer Peter Jolly is hopeful that Morvada will now secure a wildcard entry for the All-Star Mile (1600m) at Moonee Valley on March 13. Morvada was purchased for $200,000 by his trainer from the draft of Vinery Stud at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
 

Sixth stakes win for Fabergino
Fabergino (6 m Maschino - Miss Razyana by Danzero) scored a determined, albeit narrow victory, when he led throughout to win the Bob Hoysted Handicap (Listed, 1000m), to register her 12 overall victory, sixth stakes win and fourth down the Flemington straight. The daughter of Maschino (Encosta De Lago) is the only stakes winner for her dam Miss Razyana (Danzero) and has now taken her earnings to $830,800.

 

Stakes Double for Iffraaj
Former Haunui Farm shuttler Iffraaj (Zafonic) sired a stakes double on Saturday which saw his total stakes-winning tally move to 75. The first leg of the double was provided by Western Empire (3 g ex Western Jewel by Jeune) courtesy of his victory in the Lex Piper Stakes (Listed, 1600m) at Ascot. Trained by Grant and Alana Williams, the three-year-old gelding defeated Flash Ducati (Blackfriars) by an emphatic five and a half lengths. Meanwhile, the John Gosden-trained Forest Of Dean (5 g ex Forest Crown by Royal Applause) became the 75th stakes winner for the stallion after he landed the Winter Derby Stakes (Gr 3, 1m2f) at Lingfield. Iffraaj did not return to Haunui Farm for the 2020 breeding season and was replaced by his multiple Group 1-winning son Ribchester at the New Zealand-based nursery. 
 

43 for Azamour
Azamour (Night Shift) sired his 43rd stakes winner when Paisley Park (6 g ex Musical Magic by Mozart) won the Kaimai Stakes (Listed, 2000m) at Matamata on Saturday. Paisley Park was registering his sixth win overall from 29 career starts.
 

27 for Tavistock
Tavistock (Montjeu) sired his 27th stakes winner when his daughter Brave Angel (3 f ex Svita by Success Express) won the WA One Thousand Guineas (Listed, 1800m) at Ascot on Saturday for owner Nevan Botica. Brave Angel is a half-sister to Soliloquy Stakes (Listed, 1400m) winner Astara (Dalghar) and is out of a half-sister to Schilling (Bianconni) and Estonian Princess (Snitzel). Brave Angel was passed in for NZ$50,000 at Book 1 of the New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka from the draft of Brighthill Farm.
 

16 for Manhattan Rain
Manhattan Rain (Encosta de Lago) sire his 16th stakes winner when Hail Manhattan (4 g ex Beggin by Benicio) won the Tattersall’s Member’s Cup (Listed, 1600m) at Sunshine Coast. Manhattan Rain stands at Blue Gum Farm in Victoria at a fee of $13,200 in 2020.
 

12 for Zebedee
Late Cornerstone Stud resident Zebedee (Invincible Spirit) sired his 12 stakes winner on Saturday as the John Quinn-trained Lord Riddiford (6 g ex Beacon of Hope by Barathea) out-sprinted the stakes winning and Group 1-placed Moss Gill (No Nay Never) in the Hever Sprint Stakes (Listed, 5f) at Lingfield. Zebedee’s 12 stakes winners are headed by Group 2-winning trio Ivawood, Magical Memory and Barraquero and the stallion died at Cornerstone Stud in 2019.
