Sir Dragonet (Camelot) looked in good order when he landed a jump-out at Cranbourne on Monday, but co-trainer Ciaron Maher has warned they will not make any rash decisions about where the son of Camelot (Montjeu) will head next, with the decision being determined by the weather.

Maher is yet to commit Cox Plate winner Sir Dragonet to a start in The All-Star Mile(1600m) despite the entire being one of the 10 top vote gatherers in the world's richest mile race.

The main autumn aim for Sir Dragonet is the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) at Randwick on April 10, but how the entire gets to that race is yet to be determined.

Maher, who trains Sir Dragonet in partnership with David Eustace, said the weather will play a major role in where the entire next starts.

That could be in the All-Star Mile at The Valley on March 13 or in the Ranvet Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) at Rosehill the following week.

Maher and Eustace are keen to avoid racing Sir Dragonet on firm tracks after the entire finished a disappointing seventh in the CF Orr Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) at Caulfield on February 6.

"He trialled on Monday over 1400 metres," Maher told RSN.

"The target for him this whole campaign has been the Queen Elizabeth, so depending on what the weather does, The All-Star Mile is an option, the Ranvet is also an option, but then finish up with the Queen Elizabeth."
