Royal Ascot aspirations for Group 3 winning sprinting mare
Multiple stakes winning Western Australian mare Fabergino (Maschino) will join Chris Waller’s stable.
The mare’s best victory came when she landed the Northam Stakes (Gr 3, 1100m) last May and was most recently seen adding a sixth stakes race to her record when defending her crown in the Bob Hoysted Handicap (Listed, 1000m) at Flemington on February 27.
Trained throughout her career by Tiarnna Robertson, the mare has won 12 of her 19 starts which has seen her accrue $830,800 in prize-money.
Lonsdale Park’s Jim Anderson, who co-owns and bred Fabergino, said there were exciting times ahead for the six-year-old, including a potential trip to Royal Ascot.
“Fabergino will be transferred to Chris Waller’s Flemington base,” Anderson told The Races WA.
“We are also in discussions with several potential buyers including a part sale with Chris Waller’s clients.
“Chris has big plans for Fabergino including a career-ending finale at Royal Ascot.
“She will then commence her next chapter as a broodmare and a service in England to one of the best European sires at the time.
“Part of Fabergino’s ownership crew include John Tierney and Martin McDonough who live in the UK.
“They will have the opportunity of seeing her run in the flesh again.”
