Group 1 winner Russian Camelot (Camelot) will have his last serious piece of work at Moonee Valley on Tuesday ahead of Saturday's All-Star Mile (1600m).

Trainer Danny O'Brien has said that the European-bred was in excellent order ahead of the rich $5 million race with the entire not having raced since he finished eighth in the Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) and at his prior start had finished third in the Cox Plate (Gr 1, 2040m) at Moonee Valley.

Russian Camelot will be partnered by regular rider Damien Oliver in Tuesday's gallop.

"He's great," O'Brien said.

"He's going to go to The Valley on Tuesday morning for one last piece of work.

"He's ready to go to the races, it's been a good build-up for him and I'm looking forward to running him."

The final field and barrier draws for the All-Star Mile will be announced on Tuesday.
