Dual Group 1 winner Russian Camelot (Camelot) will head to Sydney later this week, with trainer Danny O’Brien not ruling running the entire in the Doncaster Mile (Gr 1, 1600m) at Randwick on April 3 and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) seven days’ later.

The son of Camelot (Montjeu) was last seen running a narrow second behind Mugatoo (Henrythenavigator) in the All-Star Mile (1600m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday and O’Brien said his main target in Sydney was the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, but was unwilling to rule out running him in the Doncaster.

"We’ve got him in the Doncaster (where he has 56.5kg) but we’ll just see how he goes up there (Sydney) on Thursday night and we’ll work out if he needs to go there," O’Brien told Racing.com.

"He’s grown up and he’s a pretty mature horse now so I don't expect any (settling-in) problems and he’s done plenty of work down at Barwon Heads going right-handed so I don’t see that as being an issue for him."
