Having surrendered his unbeaten record in the Todman Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m), Profiteer (Capitalist) will look to get his career back on track when he lines up in the Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday, for which he has drawn barrier five.

Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr, the son of Capitalist (Written Tycoon), who landed the Rosehill Group 1 in 2016, and Price described his barrier draw as ‘ideal’.

"I think it's pretty much ideal," Price said. "The 1200-metre chute there, if you are making a run early, you need to be in a position at the half-mile, so I think there will be a push early.

"There's three or four horses that will go forward and maybe one from the outside, but I think it's OK."

Profiteer is $4 equal favourite in the Golden Slipper market with Stay Inside (Extreme Choice), who drew barrier three.

Meanwhile, Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Artorius (Flying Artie) is rated a $8.50 chance after drawing barrier 13, while Todman Stakes winner Anamoe (Street Boss) drifted out to $12, after drawing wide in 16.

Profiteer tuned up for his assault on the race with a gallop at Rosehill on Tuesday.

"It was a nice gallop - they ran time, but they ran time with something up his sleeve - which is how you want them," Price told Sky Thoroughbred Central.

"We've had a few goes, I think we ran a couple of thirds and a fourth, but I would have to say those horses that we ran places with came through the Blue Diamond, but this one hasn't - this one has had a circle around the Golden Slipper.

"I wanted to bring him on with the Todman, I think that's what's happened and he's pretty spot on."

Meanwhile, rookie trainer Annabel Neasham will be represented by her first runner in the coveted Group 1 when she saddles Queen Of Wizardry (Not A Single Doubt), who broke her maiden impressively at Doomben on January 2 and was last seen running an eye-catching fourth in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m). The daughter of Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice) will jump from barrier four.

The two-year-old was due to have a run in last weekend's Magic Night Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) but Neasham explained a mishap forced her to be scratched on race day morning.

"Unfortunately, she slipped over in the wash bay about four o'clock in the morning on Saturday," Neahsam said.

"She just took a bit of skin and hair off her knee. It's not deep, it's just superficial.

"It meant she couldn't take her place but she's absolutely fine, she worked extremely well this morning so we're very excited about lining up.

"Originally we were going to go Magic Night into the Sires into the Champagne, but the Golden Slipper is not a bad second choice."
