Group 3 winner Anders (Not A Single Doubt) has been retired and will now join the Widden Stud roster, where he will stand for an introductory fee of $16,500 (inc GST) in 2021.

“Now pensioned from stud duties, Not a Single Doubt has been a magnificent stallion for a long period, rising from a fee of just $13,750 as a modest Listed winner on the track, to being one of the best stallions in the country and we believe Anders has the right attributes to follow in his footsteps,” said Widden Stud’s Antony Thompson.

Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Anders won twice as a two-year-old and made a good start to his three-year-old season with a dominant victory in the Rosebud Handicap (Listed, 1100m), in which he beat subsequent dual Group 1 winner Ole Kirk (Written Tycoon).

He backed that up with an equally impressive three and a quarter length victory in the San Domenico Stakes (Gr 3, 1100m) on August 29 defeating Peltzer (So You Think) in a time of 1.02.67 with that victory earning him a Timeform rating of 119.

"We've always had a very high opinion of him," Maher said after that race. "What he showed us at home, he was very exciting, and I thought he could be our Magic Millions horse. Few could run the sectionals he could and be strong on the line. It gets you going a bit – he couldn't be more impressive, could he?!"

The son of Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice) retires the winner of four of his 11 starts, which saw him earn $326,615 in career prize-money.

Bred by Arrowfield and purchased by his trainer and Aquis Farm for $670,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Arrowfield Stud draft, the colt is out of unraced War Emblem (Our Emblem) mare Madame Andree, making him a three-quarters brother to stakes-placed Snitzel (Redoute’s Choice) colt Battleground.

His third dam is Appealing Story (Valid Appeal) - the dam of Grade 1 winner Exciting Story (Diablo) and Listed-winning trio Strong Memory (End Sweep), Sweeping Story (End Sweep) and Diablo’s Story (Diablo) - who in turn produced fellow Listed winner Open Story (Open Forum).

Further back this is the family of Listed scorers Red Claudia (Agnes Tachyon) and Colourful Days (Fuji Kiseki).
