Annabel Neasham is confident the wet conditions will play into Queen Of Wizardry’s (Not A Single Doubt) favour when she tackles the Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

While Neasham told Racing.com she believes the filly will thrive once stepped up in distance, with the Sires’ Produce Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) and Champagne Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) the two-year-old’s long term target, but the conditions on Saturday will ensure the Group 1 is a real test of stamina which will suit the daughter of Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice).

Queen Of Wizardry made a winning debut at Doomben on January 2, before running fourth in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m) on January 16.

“I think she can. She’s got to kick off somewhere and she was brilliant at Eagle Farm first up, she was sort of off the back of the telly screen and then showed this huge turn of foot,” said Neasham.

“I thought her run in the Magic Millions was very credible. She hit traffic twice down the straight and still managed to run fourth and then powered past them after the line.

“So she deserves her place but I’ve always thought she was going to be a filly that would get over a bit of ground so I work backwards from the Champagne with her.

“But she’s been ready to go for two weeks now so I’m confident she’s really forward for this, that trip away to Queanbeyan would have really brought her on and I think with the testing conditions it is going to be a tough 1200m so that will certainly be to her liking.

“Originally I was going to go to the Magic Night but sadly she slipped over in the Tie Ups on race morning, it wasn’t bad but at all but the stewards weren’t happy for her to go round so in hindsight it was probably a good thing because the slipper was never part of the plan.”
