Son of Savabeel being aimed at Doncaster and Queen Elizabeth
A tilt at the Australian Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) has been ruled out for Mo'unga (Savabeel) who won his first Group 1 victory in Saturday's Rosehill Guineas (Gr 1, 1200m).
Trainer Annabel Neasham confirmed on Monday morning that the colt has pulled up well from Saturday's race and will bypass the Australian Derby and instead head to the Doncaster Mile (Gr 1, 1600m) and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m).
In winning Saturday's race, Mo'unga became the 23rd Group 1 winner for his Waikato Stud-based sire Savabeel (Zabeel).
Our colt Mo’unga has pulled up well from his Group 1 victory! After speaking with connections, we can confirm that he will not head to the ATC Derby. Both the Doncaster and/or the Queen Elizabeth are on the cards at this stage. pic.twitter.com/vORwXwmfUR
