Having finished seventh in the Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) last Saturday, Inglis 2YO Millennium (RL, 1100m) winner Profiteer (Capitalist) will now head for a spell.

Co-trained Michael Kent jr told http://Racing.com the son of Capitalist (Written Tycoon) will be aimed at the Coolmore Stud Stakes (registered as Ascot Vale Stakes) (Gr 1, 1200m) when he returns as a three-year-old.

"It would be the right race for him," Kent Jnr said of the Coolmore.

"His debut performance down the straight was super, so he's ticked that box. There is no real plans, but you would think a race like that would be ideal for him.

"He will have six to eight weeks in the paddock, which is ideal for him. He will come back bigger and stronger.

"He has to learn to harness his energy a little bit, but we have no doubt he will get 1200 metres. He was beaten a nose in the Todman and wasn't fit that day.

"So we aren't concerned about 1200 metres and I think he's in for a really good spring anyway."

Kent Jnr said there were excuses for Profiteer's performance in the Golden Slipper, pulling up stressed post-race.

"Mick thought he had a bit of heat stress post-race. It was a very warm day," he said.

"He got particularly warm pre-race. He didn't get it right on the day, but he's definitely a Group 1 sprinter on his day and we are very much looking forward to the spring with him."
