The Cambridge Stud-raced Probabeel (Savabeel) won a 1200 metre trial at Randwick on Friday morning. The Jamie Richards-trained filly was last seen finishing 12th of 15 runners in last month’s All-Star Mile (1600m) and remains on target for a tilt at the Queen Of The Turf Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) at Randwick next weekend.

On Friday under Kerrin McEvoy, the four-year-old was settled down second last in the field of eight, with the Annabel Neasham-trained European import Blue Soldier (War Front) leading the field along. Into the straight, Probabeel came with a determined run down the outside to catch the leader in the closing stages and she scored by three quarters of a length in a time of 1:15.01. Blue Soldier finished second and Laure Me In (Ad Valorem) was another three quarters of a length back in third.

Also at Randwick on Friday, Coolmore Australia shuttler American Pharoah (Pioneerof The Nile) was represented by two unraced two-year-old trial winners. The first season sire has sired three winners in Australia to date and the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Decisive Move (2 f ex Gamble Me by Rock Of Gibraltar) won heat 14 over 740 metres.

Away well from the barriers, Decisive Move went straight to the front under Brenton Avdulla. Into the straight, she was asked to quicken and responded well, holding off Mark Newnham’s Selhurst Park (Not A Single Doubt) by a neck with that pair six lengths clear of Humble Star (Star Witness) who came home in third. The time for the heat was 44.92 seconds.

In the next heat, Decisive Move’s stablemate Wenet (2 f ex Whitula by Onemorenomore) won her heat over 740 metres in a time of 45.24 seconds. Wenet led the field to the home turn before being joined by Milla’s Ready (More Than Ready). Those two raced together in the straight before Wenet was asked in the closing stages and she responded well to pull away to score by a length and three quarters. My Snow Queen (Star Turn) ran on well from back in the field to finish second and Milla’s Ready held on for third.

Wenet was bought by her trainers for $100,000 at last year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
