The weather will determine where talented mare Rubisaki (Rubick) resumes this weekend, with the mare nominated for the Sapphire Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) at Randwick and the Bel Esprit Stakes (Listed, 1100m) at Caulfield.

Prime Thoroughbreds' Joe O'Neil said that while the race in Sydney was potentially shaping as an easier assignment, the prospect of a rain-affected track in Melbourne was attractive.

"It looks like it's going to be a dry week in Sydney which means Randwick will dry out," O'Neill told Racing.com.

"We had a fair bit of rain here over the weekend and there's more tipped for this week so there's a fair chance Caulfield will be wet and we want to run on the softest track.

"We'll make the decision later in the week but Melbourne is looking the most likely option, even though the race in Sydney is looking like it might be weaker than the race in Melbourne.

"She's come back great but we know she's a superior horse on soft going."

Trained by Patrick Payne, the daughter of Rubick (Encosta De Lago) kicked off six race winning streak when she landed handicap 1200 metres at Moonee Valley in November 2019 and those sextet of race wins included victories AV Kewney Stakes (Gr 2, 1400m), PJ Bell Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) and James HB Carr Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m).

The filly's four-year-old career has not gone to plan so far, finishing tenth when she resumed in the WW Cockram Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) on August 29, while she hasn't been seen since her 12th place finish in the Rose of Kingston Stakes (Gr 2, 1400m), after which she was found to have minor suspensory injury.
