The Grandview Stud-based stallion Under The Louvre (Excellent Art) sired his second first-crop winner on Tuesday courtesy of Under The Dunes' (2 f ex Al Sahra by Desert Sun) victory in the Tbsc.com.au Maiden Plate (1200m) at Mornington.

Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, the two-year-old filly was having the second start of her career, having finished second on debut at Ballarat on March 21 and she finished strongly to beat Salamanders (Animal Kingdom) by three-quarters of a length. Identical (Brazen Beau) was another half a length away in third.

The filly was purchased by Maher for $70,000 at last year's Inglis Classic Yearling Sale from the Kanangra draft and she is out of the winning Desert Sun (Green Desert) mare Al Sahra, making her a three-quarter sister to Listed scorer Alart.

Further back this is the same pedigree as 2019 The Everest (1200m) and now Coolmore Stud-based sire Yes Yes Yes (Rubick) and dual Group 1 winner In Her Time (Time Thief).

In 2020 Al Sahra produced a sister to Under The Dunes and she was covered this spring by Twin Hills Stud-based sire Smart Missile (Fastnet Rock).

Under The Louvre has had five starters so far and Under The Dunes joins Cadboll as his other winner.
