Trainers Sean and Jake Casey are eyeing the Goodwood (Gr 1, 1200m) with promising sprinter Laverrod (Toronado).

But whether the four-year-old runs in the race depends on whether they can secure Willie Pike to ride on May 15.

The son of Toronado (High Chaparral) landed the Hareeba Stakes (Listed, 1200m) at Mornington on March 20 and was last seen taking out the VOBIS Gold Sprint (1200m) at Caulfield last Saturday.

Sean Casey said the plan would be to now give him a little break before heading to South Australia.

"We are going to nominate for The Goodwood and weigh up our options," Casey told Racing.com. "Laverrod is going for a freshen up and then we will work out the best way to go. The horse is fine. One bearing will be Pike's availability on the day.

"We will assess the field as well, you know."
