Peter Moody-trained Eagle Hawk Star wins at Cranbourne

The Peter Moody-trained Eagle Hawk Star (2 f ex Sunset Coast by Dubleo) won Friday's O'Brien Real Eatate Maiden Plate (1200m) at Cranbourne to provide Vinery Stud's Star Turn (Star Witness) with his eighth winner.

Having his second career start, having finished sixth on debut at Flemington on December 12, Eagle Hawk Star beat Rubirock (Rubick) by three quarters of a length. Murrami Express (Shamexpress) was the same distance back in third.

Eagle Hawk Star is out of winning mare Sunset Coast (Dubleo) who is a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner and sire Shamus Award (Snitzel).

Star Turn now sits second in the leading first season sires table in Australia by winners, two behind Capitalist (Written Tycoon). His winners are headed by the stakes placed pair Pegasi an Astrologer.
