Group 2 winner Dirty Work (Written Tycoon) will join the Spendthrift Australia roster for the 2021 season, with the farm set to announce a fee of the son of Written Tycoon (Iglesia) at a later date.

Trained by Team Hawkes and raced by Spendthrift, Dirty Work won five of his 20 career starts, headlined by victories in this season's Schillaci Stakes (Gr 2, 1100m), while he also landed the Ortensia Stakes (Listed, 1100m) last season.

The stallion accrued $579,700 in career prize-money and his career best Timeform rating was 118, which he was awarded when finishing third behind Hec Doc (Duporth) and Trekking (Street Cry) in the this season's edition of the Manikato Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) at Moonee Valley.

"Written Tycoon this season is a fireworks display. From his own progeny flying on the track, to that of his son Capitalist, we're very excited to be adding arguably his best looking sire son to the Spendthrift Australia roster." Spendthrift Australia's general manager Garry Cuddy said.

Purchased by Spendthrift Farm for $800,000 at the 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling from the Sledmere Stud draft, the colt is out of dual-winning mare Maidel (Ad Valorem), who is herself a half-sister to Group 3 winner Gamay (Pierro), while she also counts Listed winner Meidung (Bernardini) as one of her half siblings. Meidung herself produced Group 2 winner Banish (Lonhro).

Further back this is the family of dual Group 2 winner Pinwheel (Lonhro).

Dirty Work will stand alongside Omaha Beach (War Front) and Vino Rosso (Curlin), who will return to Australia for a second season.

Grade 1 winner Omaha Beach will stand for an unchanged fee of $22,000 (inc GST), while Vino Rosso, who landed the 2019 Breeders' Cup Classic (Gr 1, 10f) will stand for a second consecutive year at a fee of $13,750 (inc GST).

Overshare (I Am Invincible) and Gold Standard (Sebring) - whose first runners hit the track next year - will stand the upcoming breeding season for an unchanged fees of $11,000 (inc GST) and $5,500 (inc GST) respectively.

The roster is completed by Swear (Redoute's Choice) - who has sired two winners from his first crop - and he will stand his fifth season at the Victorian-based farm for an unaltered fee of $5,500 (inc GST).
