Daughter of Frosted set for next assignment in South Australian Sires' Produce Stakes
Trainer James Cummings is confident the talented filly Cloudy (Frosted) can land her third consecutive race at stakes level when she tackles the SAJC Sires' Produce Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m) at Morphettville on Saturday.
The daughter of Darley shuttler Frosted (Tapit) comes into the Group 3 off the back of victories in the Dequetteville Stakes (Listed, 1050m) and Breeders’ Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) and Cummings believes she will handle the step up to 1400 metres on Saturday.
"This filly has shown all the attributes of a thorough professional who is capable of taking advantage of opportunities that are presented to her," Cummings said.
"That quality was never more evident than at her last start when she settled beautifully, took a run that opened to her and put the race away.
"She gets out to 1400 metres here, which is something of a challenge, but she's pleased the team down south and that ability to settle that she showed in the Breeders' Stakes could be decisive in a race that contains several in-form rivals."
