Talented daughter of Rubick targets northern Group 1
Talented mare Rubisaki (Rubick) will run in Saturday's Proud Miss Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) at Morphettville, before heading north to Queensland.
The Group 2-winning daughter of Rubick (Encosta De Lago) will be kept to mares only contests, with trainer Patrick Payne planning to run the four-year-old in the Dane Ripper Stakes (Gr 2, 1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 12 and the Tattersall's Tiara (Gr 1, 1400m) at the same track on June 26.
"We decided to do that to keep her against the mares, and it looks like a good option for her," managing owner Joe O'Neill told Racing.com.
"From there she will head to Brisbane and head to the Dane Ripper Stakes and then onto the Tatts Tiara.
"The Group 1 for her up there is the mare's race. She will be well and truly in that."
The Patrick Payne-trained mare, who flashed home for third in the Robert Sangster Stakes (Gr, 1200m) last start, impressed in a track gallop at Bendigo on Tuesday ahead of her trip to South Australia.
"She went very well," O'Neill said.
